Greg Land, Ed Benes, Joe Bennett, Nicola Scott and Stephane Roux have all lent their artistic talent to the interior art and/or various covers. At #56 Gail Simone took over the writing and it became the definitive Birds of Prey run along with Penciller Ed Benes. Team Evolutionīirds of Prey: Revolution, Black Canary/Oracle, Wolves, Manhunt and Birds of Prey (vol 1) #s 1-46 were all written by Chuck Dixon. They are soon joined by Huntress, who at first they fight with as her methods of dealing with criminals are much more brutal than theirs. In Rebirth, Black Canary and Batgirl come back together to track down someone using Barbara's old Oracle alias. Among her recruits are Starling, Batgirl, Katana and Poison Ivy. In the New 52, former Team 7 agent Black Canary recruits members to form a covert ops team, the Birds of Prey. With the apparent death of Batman, Oracle disbanded the team for a short time, but ultimately reassembled the team with new members Hawk and Dove, setting up base within Gotham's newly built Kord Tower. The group operated out of the Clocktower in Gotham for a time before a move to Metropolis and later Platinum Flatts. After a successful outcome to this event, the trio formed the core of the Birds of Prey. Some time later Black Canary walked into a trap and Oracle was forced to call in the Huntress. The personalities of the two women clashed at times, but after they met face to face they became very close friends. Originally the Birds of Prey consisted only of Black Canary and Oracle. Black Canary and Batgirl reunited to track down someone selling information to criminals with Barbara's Oracle alias. In Rebirth, the Birds of Prey are a team lead by Batgirl, with Black Canary and Huntress as members.
